Cultural Diversity represents everything that is good in The Human Experience, and serves as a constant reminder that we are Members of a Global Community.. In recognizing that, it allows us to focus on those things that are important to us as a Global Family, while deemphasizing those things that are not.."We Are Our Brothers Keeper"

Dr.Taylor I couldn't agree with you more..Often, over zealous reporters either in haste or contempt, inject their own bias and subjectivity in a News Article..Sometimes, they just make stuff up..When this happens, it does in fact give The Media Interests that they represent, An Impression that only mirros their own lack of profesionalism.. I am Very Grateful for News organizations such as yours, and am aware of The Positive Difference that Your Newspaper make in All Communities..

My company only focus on the truth and it's very hard finding the truth. That's why some people might just change the truth up a little to complete a story. It's not right ,but it happens! My writers and freelance writers only get paid for all positive and true story. My company will never promote negativity. We go deep into the community to find our stories . We meet everyday people with great stories to be told. We focus on helping the local businesses in the community. All media companies are not bad it's just a few that give the other ones a bad name.

I think Cultural Diversity is over rated in some people eyes. Most people are still living in the past. We must get to know one another. It's the only way to move forward. Sometime it's harder trying to deal with your own culture. We will always have our differences, but that's part of life. It takes more than studying Cultural Diversity. You must experience it yourself and don't ever forget it's always time for a change.

Of course the Media is a very influential medium. They are to be credible in everything it does..in everyway possible while being neutral. How can we do this you ask? Easy. We are the Media...we don't want just a story, we want A Package! We are Entertainment. We capture the ills of society, exposing big business practices to presenting The best and worst restraunts in town. I dont know about you...I'd rather be informed about the restraunts...Conglamurate take overs and Big business deals are an integral part of this country- its part of "The American Dream" and the media brings this to us everyday. It has brought us uneeded information such as the life and times of Britney Spears to the untold stories of 'The American Gangter'. From the National Enquirer to Playboy...It's Entertainment...and its what thousands and people tune into daily.

If we had more noteworthy news stories that capture the need for change in America rather than those that just ' Tell a Story ', more people would turn on and tune in to a something that is not just entertaining but one that has Integrity and is responsible to our society. Yes, stations are influenced by Political agendas to a large extent but so are your neighboorhood church. (I know I struck a nerve with someone there). Is there any part of our society that is not influenced by something?

Be responsible for what you hear, be responsible for what your children hear and see (including those BET drop it like its hot videos). Learn to decern (decipher) what's real and what's not. The media has a responsbility to report the truth however you as an individual have the God given ability to use your better judgement about what you hear and the actions you take.

I agree that some people dont want to get to know you. Can't you see it on their faces when they pass you by? I personally know some people that wouldn't attempt to even make eye to eye contact with you. Is it a Fear of other Culturers? Is it a Fear of Uncertainty? Or is it that some people live in a box and are afraid of the Unknown...Whatever the case may be...the need for community sponsored events such as neighboorhood meetings, school events etc...are elements needed to foster cultural diversity. In case you didnt know...there IS CULTURAL DIVIDE within OUR OWN RACE.

It's called the HAVES vs THE HAVE NOTS...

Lets face it...some may experience anxiety of meeing people their not accustomed to....HOWEVER CHANGE has to begin somewhere, why not with the person in the mirror? It's always easy to judge others before yourself...

Candace..I couldn't agree with you more. However, I believe in A Perfect World, in The Knowledge that perfection starts with self. In striving for Self Perfection, I find that many of The Imperfections that I find in others and in society, is really in many instances, how I look at myself in introspect. In doing so, I find that forgiveness has become very easy for me as my understanding of myself grows each day. I also believe that when we strive for Self Perfection, it allows for us to begin The Process of creating a Perfect World. Racism will only exist when we accept it as The Norm, and react to Our Own Perception of it. I believe in One Race. Accordingly, I don't see racism in conventional terms. I see Social Bigotry, Cultural Pride, or, The Lack of it. I see Egocentricity, Insensitivity, and Vanity, but I don't see racism. Before we can accept and understand others, we must first accept and understand ourselves.

This is a really good topic but how can we bridge the racial divide when we can't get unity between like races. Wake up and smell the roses. Racism will always exist but we as a people must learn ways to simply stop expecting a perfect world to exist.

I agree in part with JP..However, let's expand this observation to include Parental Involvement..Often, students have no Home Leadership that encourages and oversee Homework Assignments, not to mention, Regular Studies. Sometimes 4th and fith graders are more advanced in their Respective Studies than their parents. I would favor Parent Curriculum in Public Schools that would mirror their Child's Grade Level Studies. This Concept would not only keep parents abreast and current with Changing Academia, but would be helpful in The Work Place and Society as a whole. Also, more emphasis should be placed on Fine Arts, and in particular, Music. Through Music, other displines are realized to include Math, Sciences, and Foreign Lanquages. This would give The student a more well rounded education, and allow for a more expansive pursuit of knowledge.
